Elton John has been one of the dominant forces in rock and popular music, especially during the 1970s has sold over 200 million records, one of the most famous artists of all time. His success has had a profound impact on popular music and has contributed to the continued popularity of the piano in rock and roll. He realizes very many hits including "Do not Shoot me I'm Only the Piano Player (1973)", "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (1973)", "Caribou (1974)" and "Rock of the Westies" (1975). In the 80s, he meets a huge success with "Nikita" and "Candle in the Wind". It engages in the fight against AIDS in the early 90. In 1997, he created a new version of "Candle in the Wind" in tribute to Princess Diana.
